One-Day Intermediate Class: Flush Setting

Finally, a one-day intermediate class where you can learn how to flush set a round faceted stone.

Flush setting is another fun way of setting gemstones in jewelry where the gemstone appears to sit flush with the surface of the metal. Learn this new stone setting technique all in one day with us at the studio! 

All classes under Studio 925 were designed and written for instruction by Janina Arias.

*Please note that Intro to Silversmithing/Goldsmithing course is a prerequisite.

PROJECT

1 Copper practice plate

1 Ring, 1 Pendant or 1 pair of earrings

MATERIALS

• Copper plate

• Brass/Silver ingot

• Round cubic zirconias

1. Recap of basic silversmithing tools and equipment 

2. Introduction to new tools

3. Anatomy of a brilliant cut gemstone

4. Measurements

5. Creating a seat for a round faceted stone

6. Flush setting with practice plate

7. Creation of the actual project
